Alright! We’re onto week 2! Some of you are just joining us, welcome! Others have been at it for a week already, congrats! For week 2, we’re raising the stakes! For those of you that would like to continue week one activities into week 2, feel free! For those of you ready to charge into week 2, here goes!
REVITALIZE your body! *Nutrition Challenge: Replace all your beverages with water this week AND cut out all simple carbohydrates this week. That means, no cakes, cookies, pastries…basically anything with white flour in it. Only complex carbs allowed! These include things like sweet potatoes and whole grains. Here’s a great breakdown of the differences between these two with examples!
*Fitness Challenge: Workout at least five days this week AND incorporate something you don’t usually do. For me it will definitely be swimming! I’ll continue using these workouts this week also:
-1) 30 minutes “Wipeout” Cardio (Nike Training Club app on my phone). If phone fitness apps aren’t your thing, you may like these cardio workouts instead, or maybe you’re a runner (or you’d like to be)! Cool! Just get your 30 minutes in somehow.
and I’ll be adding this one: 3) Slimmer Thighs in 7 Days *side note* I do cardio every day and add arm exercises and leg exercises on alternate days. Want to be fitness pals? Add me on MyFitnessPal (rachelcscott)! Let’s keep each other motivated!
RENEW your spirit! *Spiritual Challenge: Spend 20 minutes or more in quiet time with the Lord each day this week, in prayer and the word. Need some help finding good daily devotionals to keep you motivated? I’ll be using these: In Touch Daily Devotional & 40 Days in the Word.
REPLENISH your soul! *Inspiration Challenge: Begin reading a book that inspires (besides the Bible). Commit to completing one chapter each day this week. I’m reading this one: Sepia Dreams: A Celebration of Black Achievement Through Words and Images
In addition to your inspirational reading, this week make the effort to connect to one person who inspires you, that you don’t usually connect with. Drop a note to say “hello” or “thank you!”
As always, you are encouraged to share your thoughts in the comments portion below or on the Six-Week Body, Soul and Spirit Challenge Facebook Page! Here’s to you!
